You probably haven't set up Links SQL correctly. If it's a new/recent install, try going to admin.cgi?do=page&page=setup_reset.html and re-entering your sql server details. Otherwise, check your server settings and make sure everything is okay. If the DB connects okay, try deleting one user, and then if that works, try deleting the rest. If it does not work, then work from the ground up.
