How to
Hi,

If I create a main category with 50 subcategories, can I duplicate
that and then just change the category name?

Also, perhaps related, what does the Related link do when you relate a category to another?
Does it do what just asked?

a related category just shows a link to it within the category you're in, as apposed to being an actual sub-category.

so it looks like a subcategory, but actually points you somewhere else in the directory.

Bump.

Hi,

If I create a main category with 50 subcategories, can I duplicate
that and then just change the category name?

Is this possible? To copy similar categories and then just change the name of the primary cat?
Like Cat1, with 50 subcats. and copy & paste then change Cat1 to something else?

Or is it just type'em all in again? :)

There's nothing that's built in to do something like that. The easiest way would be to write code to do it, but that isn't exactly the easiest thing for most people Smile. Another way would be to backup/export your current database, then edit the resulting file. You could also create an RDF file and use nph-import.cgi to import it.
