I ordered your Upload Logo/Graphic Mod via PayPal about 2 days ago but I haven't received the plugin yet! Please send me the plugin ASAP.

Thanks,

Hi,

You probably should have sent Pugdog a private email or pm.

I had a bad accident this weekend, and have been out of commission. I'm just starting to get back on my feet, and to catch up on things. All the plugin software is on my desk machines, which I have not been able to work at the past few days. My portable only really lets me cruise the net, not even answer mail (until I get GossMail updated and installed), and even that has been very painful. My right arm took most of the brunt of it, and I've been barely able to move it until today, and still have no strength in it. Since I'm 98% right handed, it's been rough.

BTW... I got GossMail installed on a hidden url, and have it accessing my internal and external pop boxes, so I can check mail remotely now! It's great. I set up my partners (who can barely use a doorknob) with it, and so far so good.

Granted, it's a heavy duty solution to a fairly small problem, but it allows me to now remotely check all my mailboxes, from one central point, even away from the offices, and still download all the mail to my regular mailboxes when I do get back to the offices (using the 'leave mail on server' option). Webmail/webinterfaces have a place -- you can manage your links site from a web browser; using WebMin you can work on your server via a web interface; and using GossMail you can now manage all your mail that way too.

Reliability is probably better than Hotmail too ;)

Set up was a breeze... and I probably should have done it long ago, but there is only so much time in any given day/week/month/year/lifetime.....

I'd like to start integrating it with links, and offering webmail to select customers/surfers on select urls, but I need a major RAM upgrade, or need to move the database to it's own server before that happens. The more databases MySQL manages, and the more data in each, the more RAM that is needed to hold the data, the indexes, and the temp/working tables and cache.

My heads starting to clear up and my fingers are working better, so hopefully I'll be back working on the image/upload programs again, soon. Soooooo much to do, and the list just seems to always get longer!

Nows the time to upgrade ram. I just recently upgraded to 512MB. Ram only costs about 20 cents a MB now (US dollars), so you may as well get as much as your system can take.

Hi!

Just curious, did you use the Auth_POP module? If so, it's very easy to setup, and you never really need to use the admin. Anybody who enters a valid username/password to an existing pop account can log in and get their email.

Cheers,

Alex

Not for Sun/Sparc it doesn't :(

No, I didn't use the auth_pop module.

I actually set it up to use the default account, (I think) sort of as a security measure, since the pop accounts are on the same machine, I wanted people to actually "check" their mail.

This may change, as I get more familiar with the system.

But, I have set it up to check the pop accounts on "check" and I have it checking my 3 external pop accounts (I could always just look at the /var/mail dir on any accounts that were hosted locally <G>), but the external pops were the problems for me.

So far, everyone likes it. That's good :)
