Creating link name as filename instead of 8.html
Hi,

For search engine optimisation purposes I would like to generate my files as:

sitename.dom/category-name/sub-category-name/site-name.html

Rather than sitename.dom/Detailed/1.html (for example)

I appreciate that it may not be possible to have the category name (as a site can be in multiple categories) but how do I have the site name as the filename rather than simply ID.html ?

Any ideas?

Its not a simple process I'm afraid. You have to modify Page.pm, Build.pm and nph-build.cgi. The <%next%> and <%prev%> links don't work too well either, and you have to write a seperate global to get the same functionality :(

Do you have mod_rewrite enabled on your server? Yogi wrote a pretty cool mo_rewrite hack that does what you are asking Smile
