I tried to install both beta 1 and beta 2 on my windows machine (using Xitami). Each time install.cgi stopped at: "We are now going to unarchive the script, please be patient and do not hit stop." Any clues?

Can you try running the script from command prompt and see what happens?

Just go to the directory and type:

perl install.cgi

and follow the questions.

I did that but the result was the same. The script asked for paths und urls and then it said "Now we gathered all the info we need .... to install hit enter". I did and nothing happened, it just died.
Perhaps installing it on my live server and then copying the files on my windows machine would work? Please let me know what you think.

I tried this (copying from a server to local computer) but still with some problem. The program generally can run but it stops at some spots. I guess Win2k or NT should be OK.
