BUGs(?): validate links

BUGs(?): validate links
Hi,

there are some messages in the forum about links saving only the first value of a multi-select or checkbox form field for custom columns.
As I understand, this bug seems to be fixed now.
And when I use a multi-select form field in a template, everything works fine - except for the "Validate Links" form in the admin.

Here definitely only the first selected value of a multi-select field is saved to the database. So it seems that the validate routine was simply forgotten when eliminating this bug...

Are there any hints or workarounds, or is this one fixed in the next release, too?

Another bug:
I added a custom column named 'Lang1' to the Links table.
The Form Type is set to MULTI-SELECT, form_size is set to 8.
When adding or modifying links in the admin, this field is displayed as supposed. I can even use it in the default templates (e.g. add.html) and it displays perfect.
Only when validating links, the same form field is displayed as a single line (and single select) drop down list.

Again, any ideas anybody?

Thanx
Andreas

Hi,

This is indeed a bug that will get addressed in the next version which should be out shortly. Also, there are a few issues with the table editor (adding columns etc) that need to get fixed up.

Cheers,

Alex

Really hate to ask. But is there a stable schedule for the new release?

Sorry, but any good news?

Alex and the rest of the gang have been very busy with Gossamer Mail but I'm sure Links SQL is next on his list.

Thanks, Paul. But I think Alex or someone from GT should at least response to let us know how's going on now, since Gossamer Mail is already out.

Also I'd like to suggest Alex should appoint someone inside GT to take care of such schedule things because he's always busy. If Alex need to take care everything or read every posts. I don't think he will have enough time for coding and debugging, since he also need to handle the company. And may also mess things up. If you check those posts Alex have recently. You'll know what I mean.

Sorry for my bad English.

Uh...they already do...they have hired a group of programmers and developers over the past year. Give them a break!

Yup, I know well about that, and that's why my post above. Actually our studio has same kind of pain when expanding from 2 to 8 peoples. I've been tied up with some other non-efficency things during the expanding in the past year.

Don't get me wrong, my post is not mainly complain, but a suggestion. Because I've faced the similar situation for the past year. But things need to be going on. So my suggestion is Alex should assign some other people to take over some burden from him, help him. If he had to do most of the support and coding and announcement and debugging. How can he do, he only has 24 hours a day!

GT has good products, and actually I've bought both LinkSQL and Gossamer Mail over a year ago and still not use them in live site. But that's my problem, not GTs. The reason is we have some problem when expanding. But in all, I trust their quality, I love their products.

So now, what I'm doing is hope they can go through all the pain of expanding and turn out to be a great company. But before that can be done. They should rearrange the work-load.

I'm sorry it may not a proper place for this post and my bad English.;)

I have to correct myself in one point:
The select field, although defined as multi-select, is displayed as a single select drop down list also when modifiying multiple links. When modifiying only one link it is displayed as multi select field...

It seems that both behaviours are for the same reason, so is that one mentioned above supposed to be fixed in the next version, too?

[multi-select displayed as single select drop down on validate links page]

LSQL 2.04 still has this bug on the validate and modify multiple pages in the admin - or something went wrong when I upgraded.

Re: [Alex] BUGs(?): validate links In reply to
Hi there,

I just upgraded to 2.1.0 and found that the bug described in April (!) last year still seems to exist.

Custom form fields defined as multi-select still display as single select drop downs in the admin when validating or modifying multiple links. They show up perfectly as multi-select form fields when modifying a single link, though.
Unimpressed
Didn't the upgrade work correctly?

Hi,

just bringing this thread back to top to make sure it will be noticed and that hopefully this bug will be eliminated with the next version of Links.
