BUG - globals don't delete

BUG - globals don't delete
Hi there,

I'm trying to delete some globals from the globals.txt and they don't delete.

When you first delete a global it appears deleted,but the next time the file is loaded, the global is back.

Try renaming the master copy of globals.txt to globals.txt.orig. That works for me. Looks like it keeps reading the original version and overwriting your changes in local.

For example, if you are using the mint template set:

/cgi-bin/admin/templates/mint/global.txt -> global.txt.orig

Make sure you have a copy of global.txt in /cgi-bin/admin/templates/mint/local first. You should if you have made changes to any of the parameters.

Still a bug, but this seems to be a workaround.

Just so you know, this isn't *really* a bug. Alex/GT are aware of it, and its just a limitation of the Globals deleting system. What happens, is the global is removed, and because it is a default global, it adds it back again. This should only happen when deleting default globals, and not custom ones :)

Clearing the global code works ok as only the global title is actually kept. This is what I do to keep things tidy.
