Alex -- page.cgi d=1 default?

Alex -- page.cgi d=1 default?
Alex,

When did the default on page.cgi change from d=1?

This may "break" a lot of sites, and rewrite rules for existing sites. It seems to now default to d=0, where before, d=0 was the override value.

Can this be set as a configuration option? Either in the admin, or during install "Have page.cgi default to dynamic or static output [d]".

I just think that once the 2.1.0 release is out, and people upgrade, this is going to be a "gotcha" that was unexpected. Scripts have changed (new inits), and now dynamic output defaults have changed, but with page.cgi, rewrite rules may have to be adjusted by the ISP or be beyond the "average" ability to do.

Something to think about....

Hi,

I'm pretty sure 2.0.5 made the change from default d=1 to d=0. I just looked and cvs and it was like this in 2.0.5. I can't remember the reason, as it was 5 months ago. =) There was a good one though.

Cheers,

Alex

The problem, though, becomes launching dynamic websites with http://domain.com/cgi-bin/page.cgi

The script now needs to have the ?d=1 on the end. This complicates rewrite rules, and prevents symlinks.

If page.cgi is a "dynamic" mode script, it makes more sense to have to override dynamic mode, rather than set dynamic mode.
