I am looking for a little advise as to installing the beta or waiting. I am tempted after looking at the 2.0 to upgrade immediately but, I'm sure there will be many changes in the next days, weeks. I am wondering if I upgrade now and change all the SQL tables, will I have to go this process again when the next version comes out? Will the install recognize my table structure?

I don't think there have been any changes to the database in awhile. Most of the changes have been in the module code.

The whole point of the new version is to separate the data from the code from the interface.

No, we are at the point where I don't forsee any changes to the data structure, so you should be fairly safe.
