I just noticed when going into my GL Admin area under "Browse" when I open up a Category and look for links and when it says "Querying database" it seems to take forever to list the links in the selected category. It wasn't this slow before. What can be tweaked or what could be causing the unusual slowness when accessing the database?

Is debugging turned on at all? That can cause a hell of a slowdown, if left enabled (due to logging all the queries, processes etc).

Debugging is and has been set to off.

Try running repair tables and check your category counts look right.

Also, your MySQL server may need a reboot or maybe it's going through a performance hit at present if you're on a shared server with significant load.
