The is_Popular does not show up on the Links: Modify Record page. Anybody know which file I need to check?

It won't.

isPopular is a system defined field (i.e its worked out by the system, so you don't need to enter a value).

If a link is defined as "popular" (by hits + votes I believe), then when your pages are built, it should update the isPopular flag for you :)
