Using GLinks 3.0.4 it seems that the cookie used for the login is only valid for the current browser session. By closing the browser and returning to the site I'm logged out. Viewing the cookie within Firefox tells me the same. It doesn't matter what value has been entered for the 'user_session_length' in the setup panel.

Any ideas about this?

The session cookie is valid for user_session_length hours as long as the browser is kept open. It's done like that for security reasons so that someone can't open up your browser after you've closed it and still be logged in. The best option would be to have a remember me option like in Gossamer Forum - I've added this to our possible future features list.
