Is it possible to cache the category dropdown to decrease load time. I have many thousands of categories and it takes very long time. The cats dont change that often either.

Are you looking at doing this on the "add/modify" page, or on a category/normal page?

If its the latter, then you could use a script to generate an include .html file, and then just include that (so all its got to do, is grab a file... and not compile the list dynamically).

I will look into that. I like the inclue idea. For now I have just disabled the dropdown in the admin panel until i can get the best solution sorted.
