Hi all,
cause i always finish a project completly in my intranet, i have a problem to download plugins via the plugin-manager while i havenīt the site online. So please tell me, how is it possible to get the plugins as files and install them manually? The only way i see at the moment is to have always a fresh install at the net, download a plugin, copy all the perls to my baseserver and compare files or code.
How do you work on your sites? Always on net?
For me i have found a small server at home as the best solution. With a small batch on my w2k i changed the file 'host' for my system and so i could have every domain twice, one in net, one at home for testing, secure saving and at least while i could enter my home-system from the laptop via ISDN i have always a running project to show from everywhere i could find a telephone-line (try to show a database-application with laptop ;-), i have tried it with two laptops, one with w2k one with linux, but thatīs a lot of stuff to carry ;-)
Another solution could be to connect my home-server to the net, but this implicates all the necessary stuff for firewall and co; and i really love my easy system without any securing, itīs fast and easy to handle.
