The BigWhat site is not accepting affiliates from the UK, so as the pluging doc says "You must have a valid PID in order to use the plugin" then the only way to get this to work would be to use somebody else's affiliate code

So all profits to whoever.

To use GT's code use 128.

That is not quite correct...the Links SQL program is available to all...the standard affiliate program is not available outside the USA....these are two different programs and should in no way be confused with one another.

i signed up with bigwhat added the pin number , set include results to 1 but still do not get any results when i do not have any results. am i missing something?

Are you passing in the code "bw=1" in your search query
as in:

search.cgi?query=whatever&bw=1

OK, so in plugin options...

"1 - the BigWhat search engine will be searched if you pass in bw=1, or if the search returns no results."

and...

"If you pass in bw=1 then the results will be available in your search_results.html using the regular tags. Otherwise, you must add the following tags: <%bigwhat_results%> - a list of the matching links."


Means that to use as a No Links Result Return you set this to 1 in admin, and put in the search results template <%if link_results%><%link_results%><%else%><%bigwhat_results%><%endif%>

This works OK for a No Links Results and shows the BigWhat results as expected.

Now say you want an option on the search form to use BigWhat results ONLY, you force a bw=1 from, say, a check box.

Problem here is that no results are returned from the BigWhat engine using bw=1.

I'm sure this is all correct.

I'm having this same problem. I set it to "1" and I get no results. Then I tried to insert the bigwhat tag in my search results page and it said invalid tag
