Where is the download? I've looked through admin/Plugins and also on the Gossamer site Plugins area, but I can't seem to find this.

Thanks very much. Smile

Hi,

My plug-ins are for sale off my own web site only...

Background: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/...i?post=201291#201291

There are no trial versions... but lots of infor and screen shots on this forum. Also, I am sure existing users of the plug-in would be happy to offer there thoughts on the plug-in and/or show you it in action on their websites... you can see it working on mine also.

Thanks!

Extetended Table Editor - for any of your tables In reply to

ADDING YOUR OWN TABLES TO THE TABLE EDITOR - ITS EASY

I just thought it may be interesting to let users of EM or UM know that you can use the Table Editor included (which is modeled after Links SQL's one) to add any of your existing or new tables in, and edit, modify, search or whatever in the same way you would with Links version.

This way you don't have to modify the core Links code, you don't have to understand coding or SQL.

How do you do it... VERY EASY.
  1. Go into either EditorMonitor.pm or UserMonitor.pm with a text editor (preferably one which can search).
  2. Search for "<option>UMSettings</option>" for UM or "<option>EMSettings</option>" for EM.
  3. Add your own table directly beneath this code, example:

<option>MyTable</option>

Pretty simple eh?Wink

UPDATE

I have begun working on Editor Monitor version 2. The addition of the next phase of the editor signup (editor application validation), leaps editor monitor into its second version. At this stage this is all the information I have on this. I am working very part time on it, so as yet I don't have a release time frame... but as soon as I canSmile

Here is an extract from version 2's documentation:

A successful submission will:
  • Send the administrator (you) an email
  • The applicant an email
  • Add the details to the EditorPending table with the application status 'Pending'

When you validate an application:
  • An email is sent to the applicant (see em_validate.txt template, included)
  • The application is kept in the pending table for future reference
  • The status of the application is changed from 'Pending' to 'Validated'.

When you reject an application:
  • An email is sent to the applicant (see em_reject.txt template, included)
  • The application is removed from the pending table and will not be available for future reference. The applicant will need to resubmit if they wish to apply again.

Hi

That sounds good..

But I think keeping all application will be better (Status=rejected on rejected once). That will allow the admin to track any multi submissions for the same users and have a future referrance on who applied..

Just a thought to add to your 10? pages todo list. Tongue

And again Tongue

have you looked into adding the java enabled submission service for the editors?

We talked about this a while back and it envolved giving the editors the ability to add sites with one click through a java script on their toolbar...

Hi Katabd,

This will NOT be added into EM version 2.x due to time constraints.

Sorry.

I would be interested in hearing from other EM users on what the general consensus on which way to go with this should be:
  1. Remove rejected applications from the pending table
  2. Keep them and assign a status of 'Rejected'

Thanks katabd.

Keep it as rejected

Hi Ian,

I would keep it also. But what needs to be done is to have a flag popup when viewing the 2nd application that informs you of a prior submission. If this cannot be done then I would say remove the file.

Thanks!

Thanks for the comments rayhne and teambldr.

My plug-in system totally fell over last night... when I get it restored I will see what I can do!

But it looks like the rejected application will be kept, and marked as "Rejected", for further reference by the admin as you desire. (through the table editor).

Update - for upcoming v2.0 In reply to
Just to update, I have this part mostly working.

The 3 types of status an application will have is:
  1. Pending - automatically set when an application is submitted
  2. Validated - when you validate it: validation email is sent, record is kept
  3. Rejected - when you reject it: rejection email is sent, record is kept

Both emails are template based with only one tag for use in them <%Name%> which is the applicants full name.

Hi,

The status is changed from Pending to either Validated or Rejected automatically.

This seems to be working fine on Categories at the moment tooSmile. (just testing it out).

On my site... just starting to set it up, and am testing everything out... noticed this file is not there when I set up the plugin,,, have created my own, but am wondering what is on the original...

edit: just looking at your site, your getting:
"OOOPS .... We have recently given our website a face lift, and the page you are looking for is history .. or might be temporary not working" on the editor profile page???
???

Edit again::
By the way, how do you get the Become an editor category to display like that???
Outstanding idea...

Hello

The file you mentioned does not exist since we do not have that user..
But try any other editors page and they all seem to work from my end.

Thanks for the comments.
