admin.cgi password protect

admin.cgi password protect
We installed gfroum yesterday and were having success with it, but when we used the default security option to password protect the admin panel we were no longer able to access the admin.cgi page. What exactly does the default secure option do, and how do we go about undoing it?

Thanks

It sets up a .htaccess and .htpasswd file with the username and password that you supplied for the admin url. You'll need ftp or shell access to undo it. Just go into the admin path and remove the .htaccess and .htpasswd files. Remember to set another username and password to protect your admin again though.

Thanks. I can get back to the admin panel now, but I still have the same problem. Using the default method to password protect it doesn't do anything but lock me out entirely. How to I go about setting this up so it can be logged into?

That's weird. If you e-mail support with your admin path and a way to reset it (ftp or shell access), we can take a look at it for you.
