How to save all the MySql contains/files in my PC ?

How to save all the MySql contains/files in my PC ?
How can i save all the contain of Mysql forum (categories, messages, users, statistiques, ...) on my PC hard disk ?
And, if an accident happens online how to put the backup online again ?

I tried by using the 'Sql Dump' option. Then 'Dump to file', then i gave a name as 'backup.txt'. The database answered then that the 'backup.txt' file is created. But where is this file located ? How to get it or delete it ?
