Step 2 of setup:

Error: Could not connect to database.
Reason: DBI module not installed.
You must install the perl database module DBI from...

Well, I assume LinksSQL uses this same module package and installs just fine.

DBI modules are installed and working:

DBI 1.21
Apache::DBI 0.10

Do you have the path to perl correct? You could be using a different version of perl that what Links SQL uses.

Yes that was it. The installer picked up the 5.6.0 Perl install tree (which is an incomplete Perl install) and LinkSQL is using the main 5.6.1. Thanks for the tip.
