Would it be possible to have the same system, that alerts you via email when a message is posted in a discussion, to be alerted when a specific user posts a message in the forum in general ?
Obviously it would need to be in a forum that both users have access to...

Would this be possible in the version 2 ?

I'll add this to the list of suggestions for version 2. I'm not completely sure how we'd work an interface for it without being confusing, but we'll see how it goes.

Yes it's true that the selection of users would need to take groups into account. Maybe having an interface similar to the moderators functions acquired through your latest plug-in in order to deal with the groups and users.
