indexing schemes
What do the different indexing schemes mean?

I'm unable to use MySQL indexing since the version of MySQL on the server I'm using is only 3.22.27 and it apparently needs to be 3.23.23 or better.

"Internal" indexing appears to create two new tables called [table]_Score_List and [table]_Word_List.

Is it fair to assume this is a way of improving search speed and results relevance? What are the pros/cons of one scheme over another? Should I be pressing the company whose server this is to upgrade to a newer version of MySQL?

Good news: this is explained in the new manual. See pages 18, 19 and 20. Smile
