Hi!

I am trying to get through the setup and am getting the good 'ol:

Error: Could not connect to database. Reason: Can't connect to local
MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

I looked at a couple of other posting involved with this error, but all refer

to a config file. I don't even get that far... any thoughts?

That means mysql isn't running (possibly).

MySQL *is* running...

Looks like it may be related to the mysql.socks file. I opened this file in vi and it has nothing in it. Also it is in the

the \var\lib\mysql directory. Should this file have some info in it?

Hi Jeff,

You won't be able to edit this file.

That error means either MySQL is not running, or your DBD::mysql is no longer linked against the same version of MySQL.

This can happen if you upgrade MySQL, but don't upgrade DBD::MySQL.
