Top Ten by Gender
I'm using this cool MOD:
http://www.jpdeni.com/dbman/Mods/top_ten_gen.txt

Prob is, I dont get it to work 100%... the top 10 list dont get divided by gender in anyway, it just list them separeted by columns in a long list, no matter what gender of the record.

Is anyone using this MOD? Can you give a helping hand? Thanks!!

How are you naming the genders? This may be what is causing you problems, for instance if you are naming your fields male and female, then both field actually contain the word male.

Do you have different values for the gender field? If so, check out this thread to see if the change will help:

If that does help, please provide more information and perhaps a link to your database so others can see the results you are getting.

Thanks!! I am using the field "Gender" and the possible values "Man" or "Woman" original enough...

Is this then a problem as it uses man in both of them?

thx :)

That could possibly cause the problem. Why not try changing the field value to the ones within the mod and see if that makes a difference for you.

I know there have been a few workarounds, which you may find by using the search feature of the support forum and looking for all the threads related to using the Top Ten by Gender mod.

Hmmm... I changed to F and M but it still list the users in columns.... i e I have three different users (2M 1F) and they get listed in the same row divided by columns...

Should be separeted by columns for each gender, i e just two columns.

Thanks :)

By doing some adjustments, I've come a bit further down the road... turned out my previous layout modifications were the prob.

Now - the listings I get doesnt reflect the actual number of "hits" registered for a certain record... It can be like this:

#1 3
#2 1
#3 7

(the number being the no of hits).

Does this have anything to do with the IP Log being used? Is this cause it detects Im cheating? How does the IP Log work?

Thanks!! :)

It's not easy to guess what can be going wrong at times, but being able to see your files would help greatly.

I'm sure there are folks here willing to look over your files and this modification and help you out, but you must make a .txt copy of the related files and provide the URL to access. Also provide a link to the working copy of your database as that may help .. seeing what it is doing.
