Hi,

I have the upload mod installed and it has been working great for several months now. I recently had a member report that they could see the records, but the pictures wouldn't show up. I suggested for them to check to be sure they allow pictures to be shown on their browser, but that wasn't the problem. Any ideas or suggestions? I can't think of anything else.

Hi Shannon,

I find quite often that users forget to "NOT" leave spaces in their file names, which is most times why the images will not show up.

She seems to be having that problem with all the pictures, so I've ruled that problem out. I also have the validation mod set up, so we check for that before the record ever makes it live to the website. I'm haven't heard from any other members of my website about that problem. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of that.

I would also ask the member what browser they are using and whether they have javascript turned on in their browser.

What about case sensitivity? Unix is case sensitive, but since they are uploading the picture and the MOD gives it a new name that shouldn't be a problem.

Can anyone else upload pictures? If so then the problem obviously is with one particular user. You'd be surprised what your end-users can manage to royally mess up.

I have it set up to redirect to an error page if javascripting isn't turned on, so that shouldn't be a problem. She said that she had the problem with her AOL browser and with IE. I don't have AOL (thankfully), so I can't test it to see what she would be having problems with, and I haven't found any other settings with IE that would prevent it from displaying the pictures other than the setting for showing pictures (which I did have her double check).

The Mod doesn't give it a new name, it just uploads the picture under the upload directory and places it in a directory that corresponds to the ID # of the record. Occasionally, I have to rename a file in the upload directory because a member will have a space in the file name and Unix turns it into %20 (or something like that). Other than that, I haven't had any problems with the upload mod.

She's definately got me stumped on this one.

Sorry... my bad. I have used the upload mod in a while. You are using the multi-upload mod right?

If you want to PM me with the person's name I'll look and see if I can see the pics. I can check it out on AOL as too (although it will take me a day or two to get a modem installed).

The only problems I seem to remember encountering (with the single upload mod) was that it had something to do with uploading a new file after you had already upload one. It didn't like to delete the old one or something???
