Last Modified by Who?

Last Modified by Who?
I have a 'last modified' field, set up according to the posting at

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/forum/resources/Forum12/HTML/000856.html

What I can't quite figure is how to incorporate the $db_userid for the user doing the modifying. I would like the field to include both the date modified and the user name, so it's apparent who modified the record last and when.

Ok, I've found the post on how to do it as a separate field but can it be easily done in the same field? I don't want to add a field if I can avoid it, since I have existing records.

bboru,

Unfortunately, no...The easiest way is to add another field to differentiate from the regular Userid field. It is REAL easy to add new fields and then update your database by using the Upgrade Existing Database mod in the Resource Center (which I helped to write).

bboru, are you allowing users other than the owner of the record to modify? Or do you not have the records owned by users?

A record can be modified only by the user who created it and admin. I guess I can just create another field. It was more curiosity than need, really.
Thanks.
