i have recently discovered dbman and i'm currently trying to configure the it so that when it returns the search matches it also displays what the search criteria was

eg "your search for Cats returned 20 matches" or maybe even the field names
eg " your search for animals,name,pets returned 20 matches"
is this possible ?


also after much frustrations i've managed to get the file upload mod working( i use it to add pictures to the database) ...only thing is when i try to modify a record and upload a new picture over the old one, it will not do it, and i have to delete that record and create a new one...but i noticed it still does'nt delete the image in the image folder...
is this how it's supposed to work??

one final question... is there a way to add a new page in the html.pl ? i want to have thumbnails in the records that link to a new page with the full sized picture (i don't mind having to upload two pictures..one small..one large)..
but i can't seem to figure out how to create a new page...

I switched to the multi-upload mod so I don't have to delete the record each time I wanted to delete/change an uploaded file. The only bad part of this is that it doesn't work with multi-select.

The Unofficial FAQ for searching at http://webmagic.hypermart.net/dbman/search.htm#top will show you how to keep the search terms along with your search output though I've never done it myself.

I'm not sure why you are not able to modify a record and just browse and choose another image to upload.

If you are allowing them to modify that field it should work. I have this setup in a database and have never had a problem choosing another graphic.

Please check the FAQ noted below under the section for "Images" and see if there are any fixes to the version you are using.

I believe JPDeni's short/long mod will provide the extra page you are looking for. This can be found in the Resource Center or directly from her web site at:
