Anyone running resume databases?

Anyone running resume databases?
Approximately, how many resumes (with average info/size) can the database (or db size-MB) hold, before you see a considerable slowdown in searches?

Feedback is appreciated.

While some consider flat files to be limiting, I am developing a resume databank that is populated with 14,000 resumes and it only takes about 5 seconds to perform a search.

DB has 25 fields and is about 6mb.

I have load tested with 25,000 records and the search took about 8 seconds.

I must admit though I am finishing a PHP MySQL version because while the db works it is time for SQL.

Thank you for your response. I don't quite expect 14,000 resumes. But you never know, I may be underestimating. I want to create database for freelance Web developers.

Are you developing your own SQL version?

Any other (from others, that is) feedback is welcome.

I am using DBMAN for a Resume database. I am planning on using PHP to connect the various databases in my site.
