Could someonone make a Mod that gives registered users the possibility to sign up for editor for a category. the content should be stored in a temporary database table. after validation, the editor will be added, or deleted, or modified with or without email notice.

existing editors that have rights to add editors (CanAddEdit) should have the possibility to do this for their category too.

I'm sure someone is working on it, but it's also something I've been thinking about for the reviews system, since reading reviews is a time consuming job, allowing editors would be helpful. This would use the standard links system, but probably with another field "reviews" rather than "links" editing.

In short, I've thought about it, it's on the list, more or less, but ETA is unknown.
