Just check the result code on a test script. I thought there was an example of this in the other flock() thread.

The rule of thumb is:

Windows = No flock support
Everything else = Has flock support

The newest versions of activestate perl deal with this problem to save errors occuring as they did in the past but the thread below this one shows how to deal with it.
