Hi !

I have been searching for a reliable password protection script, to no avail.

Eliot suggested the Admin Password Protection Mod in the GTI Resources, however I cant access that page - it simply wont load.

The script needs to be able to protect a directory, and all the contents of that directory from web surfers.

All the scripts I've come across (when configured to the instructions) do not stop me accessing specific web pages within the protected directory.

My server does not support .htaccess or I would be using it, and I'm stuck with my current host for 3 more months.

A recommendation for a reliable password protection script would be greatly appreciated.

One other suggestion I have Sweeper is to use the integrated DBMAN/LINKS Template System that may provide you some password protection. You can read the Threads related to this Topic in both the LINKS Modification Form and DBMAN Discussion Forum.

I, too, in the past looked at password protection scripts at cgi-resources.com, and none of them were reliable.

Thankyou both times for your help, I appreciate it. Unfortunately your right about the reliability of most the cgi password protection scripts.

I'll take a look at the DBMAN suggestion to see if that will help me a little. I just wish I had .htaccess
