Always have the latest most unstable release of every software on your servers. After all, we're all developers not house keepers. :-)

While I agree that it shouldn't be installed on a production box just yet (to new), it IS the stable branch. The quote about the devloper's release is wrong. This is the official 5.8.0 release, not one of the RC's, nor is it the development branch.

The dev branch was 5.7.x. Odd numbers in the second position are dev, even are releases.

No, it's release, but labled as pre-release so as to work out any last minute bugs
