Hi! I would just like to ask what is the typical webspace that would be needed for installing MySQL? I know that you will need to have extra diskspace for the databases itself but if you just install the program and did not create any databases what is the diskspace required?

WHAT features, functions, scripts, etc. do you want to use with your MySQL database(s)? MySQL provides decent info on what you need in terms of installing the default files...but to say "You would need X amount of disk space" is not accurate without knowing HOW much data you anticipate to store in your MySQL database(s).

That is why I asked you about what "features" you want database driven.

Why don't you go to the download page at www.mysql.com and see for yourself.

But anyway the gzipped file is about 6MB so that is about twice that size unzipped.

I did and I already know the zipped size of the file but I did not know the size of the uinzipped file. I did not download it cos' I do not know which one to download since my server is Colbalt RaQ4 so therefore I do not know the actual size.
