SMTP Auth - install/config - any suggestions?
Hi All

Has anyone done an install/config of SMTP Auth?

Looks like I'm gonna have to tackle this, but I'm completely a newbie with this.

Any suggestions/thoughts would be soooooo appreciated.

Thanks Smile

Does SMTP Auth force a user to provide a login and password?

We're looking for a way to prevent unauthorized use of the smtp.

Thanks

I tried setting up SMTP-AUTH spent the best part of 2 days on it - dediced to go with one of the commercial Authenticated SMTP services.

Tried a few - one (can't remember its name now) auth'd on the email address but this was insecure so went with AuthSMTP.com - http://www.authsmtp.com - been using it for a while - inexpensive and works well.

So unless you are looking to do it for loads and loads of users I would certainly consider it - hope it helps!

Thanks, kindly, Jim. My host installed it for twenty bucks. I still want to figure out how to do it, though, for future reference.

Thanks, again Smile
