Newbie Apache question (On Win2k Pro
Ok this is probably real simple but haven't managed to get an answer yet.

Want to change the default document path in the httpd.conf file to point to "c:\website". Am getting "This page cannot be viewed offline when l do that".

So far have tried:

Adding AllowOverride None to the <Directory> section.

Dropping an html.index into the "c:\website" directory. Anyone know how to do this, or can point me to some documentation on doing it.

Have attached our http.config file in case l have done something wrong in there.

What you have should be fine although I would have left the config as it was and just added a virtual host at the bottom.

The error sounds like apache isn't started?

Hey thanks Paul.

Apache is running as a service. When we switch back to the original configuration our php test script runs okay.

How would we add a virtual host, and how would we call it from the browser?

At this stage will give anything a go. Remember am on Win2k stand alone box.

Cheers.
