Caching By proxy servers?

Caching By proxy servers?
Access a page , modify the page and upload and then access the page again. Besides cacheing turned off i httpd the html page has:

<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" />

Still i see the old page despite reload, deleting cookies, temp files etc. I am accessing thru cablener (lan type). Does it mean that the cablenet service prider has his proxy server set up as a rogue (in order to save on bandwidth). In fact i see pages that are not at all there on the server (deleted long back).....

from dialup, i do not see this abnormality......

You might want to check your LAN Settings in the Connection tab in your Internet Options. I am using Satellite connection and from time to time, my proxy is reset improperly by the Satellite provider.

Try checking the Use a proxy for you LAN... and then try unchecking that option to see if it makes any difference.

The cablenet service provider is using squid for cacheing. Seems they are doing a bit extra to save on extra penny....
