I used to have Win 98 booting up in 10 seconds...but that was ONLY after a clean install, with only the M$ Office programs installed. Once it was all loaded up it would take at least a minute! I agree with Paul..there is no way you can boot a whole PC, from start to finish in 7 seconds!
Up to the login screen? Hm. OK. I guess I'll have to set a login screen, then. My box at home is set with no password at the moment, so I can just sly straight in.
If I can nab the digi camera from round here I'll make a clip for you tonight. :-)
wow that's a lot of ram . I think my old IBM XT had more ram that that.
Are you including BIOS initialization because no way a BIOS initializes as well as windows booting up would be less than 7 seconds. Even just windows intializing in 7 seconds is unbelievable.

I never could get my windoze box to start up anywhere near 20 secs. Of course, it was tad faster than my mac machine but still ... from power button to login screen .... maybe he's counting from a different start point? openoffice + gimp + sketch ...
