.htaccess in different directories

Hi,

Currently I have http://www.domain.com/cgi-bin/administration/ protected with .htaccess. (The password file is located in a general dir called: /passwords/.adminaccess.) Everything works fine....

BUT NOW I would like to give the users who have access to http://www.domain.com/cms/ (and which are using the same password file) alsow access to the directory above.

The only problem is: they need to loggin twice Mad So how can I bypass the second login popup?

Thanks in advance,

cK

Hi,

Keep the Realm name to a More Generic one say 'Members Area' in the htaccess files that you place in different directories.

If above is satisfied then at most it would be required twice depending upon whether you are accessing with or without www in the url when you are switching from one to the other protected directories.
