Hmm this is very strange.

For me it looks fine with IE6 and NS6, for a client of mine it shows fine with IE and 800x600 res, for QooQ it craps out on his mac with IE and NS and for you just IE....arghhhhh!

Re: [RedRum] mmm... Mozilla 0.9.8 In reply to
You know, I have to admit that I'm not sure. I have a cable modem and that seems to be the only difference between my comp and the others that have been able to access the Ensim control panel using IE.

I don't have a dial-up connection to this computer to test the theory tho.

Off to read the "Help" documents of IE...

Re: [Heckler] mmm... Mozilla 0.9.8 In reply to
The IE screenshot isnt to do with compatibility...as I mentioned to Andy it is to do with screen resolution and monitor size. You must be using 800x600 on a 15" monitor.

I haven't attempted to get the site to work with anything less than NS6

Re: [RedRum] mmm... Mozilla 0.9.8 In reply to
RedRum,

Really bad idea to make assumptions. Better to ask questions. Like "What monitor size and screen resolution are you using? So, that I can look into this issue."

You are off-base...I am using a 19" monitor and my screen resolution is set at 800X600 (although most of my sites are designed to work even in 640X480, so I do switch screen resolutions quite often, plus I have three PC test machines with variable color schemes, resolutions, and monitor sizes, as well as different versions of software).

No need for a hit boost ;) ...mm well I guess the more the merrier but you get my point.

Regaring the site not working in Netscape 4.73...

I just checked my site stats and Netscape doesn't even make it into the top 15 user-agents list for wiredon.

Re: [RedRum] mmm... Mozilla 0.9.8 In reply to
So what happens when the 16th visitor who is using Netscape wanted to buy a 100 dedicated servers off you and $5,000 worth of Perl programming hours? And the little chap fires off an email to you saying - well I liked your site description when I found it on google.com but when I reached it was very unusable and I'm not sure I'd like to invest my money in you anymore.

You'd be gutted.

Re: [Wil] mmm... Mozilla 0.9.8 In reply to
Oh god. And you really don't want to see what I see in my browser window from home. 15" monitor with my resolution set to 800x600. I can see the top "wiredon web hosting" text and .... that's it. I have to scroll the whole page length to see anything else. What on earch are you doing? Why don't you just use fixed-width tables to ensure it looks the same at all resolutions?

In fact I'll attach a post for you to see.

{ edit - this was using IE 5 on a Window$ based machine }

Okay, so you don't care about Netscape users (or at least those using NS 4.X and below), which you have plainly made clear on a number of occassions.

If you are strictly concerned on percentages of web visitors, then close to 20% of your web visitors will not be able to see your site very well, those being IE 5.00.X users.

Because it doesn't use tables.

Why edit your post from your original comment?

Should I find that picture of yourself you posted a while back?...then we could have a real laugh Angelic.

I've already had IE5 users confirm they can see it so something strange is going on.

I'm about to download IE5 and see for myself.

Then convert them to tables, then.

RedRum,

1) If you think I am trying to get your goat, I am not. I am providing you legitimate feedback about your site, which you have elicited in this thread.

2) I was joking with Wil, and I have right to do that. It wasn't meant to get a rise out of you.

3) The fact of the matter is that you probably should wait to promote your web site until it is more usable with a wider range of browsers. Just some advice. Take it or leave it.

Adios!
