Uninstalling W2K after upgrading to XP
I recently upgraded from Windows 2000 Professional to Windows XP Professional, but it appears to have kept the old files and directories from Windows 2000. When I boot up, I have to choose which operating system I want to use, and there's a whole lot of redundancy in files/programs/etc. Is there a way to uninstall Windows 2000 now that XP is up and running properly? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks very much.

As far as I know there is no way to uninstall win2k.

anyway, it's allways better to do a full install than an upgrade. backup anything you want to keep. now, insert your XP installation disk and follow the prompts to reformat your hard drive. you may have to reboot. now, choose to install WinXP. it will ask for a previous version of Windows so put in your Win2k disk for the time being. Once it has verified the disk you can switch cd's and begin a full installation of WinXP.
