I just heard about this today.

Canadian government is planning to impose a levy on recordable media such a CD-R/W and MP3 players etc...

For every gig you can store on the device they will add a $20.00 levy and $1 something on CD-R/W.

So if this legislation is in effect you have to pay an extra $100.00+ for your iPOD if you live in CAN.

Whoever is leading this legislation should be hanged and shot in the face

the iPod isn't just any old MP3 player

It's a HD with a miniOS and iTunes ! so I wonder if they'd still be ble to tax that?

hmmm this reminds me of the time of the oil shock and all the Americans crossing the border to buy gas in Canada. Now you'll see Canadians not just buying paper products in the States but also burnable media.

This is just like the "Brain Adams law" from 2 years ago. That B#$@#$ started this whole thing. It's not enough that we have to pay an extar 14% tax on all the good we buy but we have to pay more cause of some stupid artist.
