Shaw Cable DNS Update Interval - Very Lame

Shaw Cable DNS Update Interval - Very Lame
Any of my Canadian freinds expereinced the obvious, and unecessiarly long time it takes for Shaw Cable to update their DNS information. When ever I get a new domain, or change the name server for one of them, it seems every anon. proxy, every one else in the world EXCEPT shaw cable users can see the changes for days!

I emailed their tech support:

Hi, I am wondering what time the next full DNS data update is for my area? I can resolve my new domains through anon. proxies in the US, but not through the Shaw network. I am located in blah blah blah

Hello, We perform a full DNS push regularly, however due to the network architecture of our DNS server group, it can take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to reflect at the local level.

Thank you for contacting Shaw High-Speed Internet technical support.

We hope this information has been useful to you. << LOL

48 hours is about right although it is usually less than that.

I hope they don't cut my services for speaking out against them. Actually their tech support is normally very good. I just don't get the crazy amount of time their changes take. Sure I live 40 mins out of Victoria, but so what... the computer is not out here, it is in Vancouver I beleive.

Maybe someone in Vancouver could tell me if they experince this there?

I use shaw, but I wouldn't know, I run my own caching DNS server for local computers Tongue.

What do you mean by the computer is in Vancouver?

Hmm, now I really should learn how to do that.

I mean I don't think they have a computer in Sooke! I don't know where they are doing the DNS data for shaw, perhaps out of Victoria for me. In any case it finally came on on Saturday.
