Serial ATA
Does anyone have any experience with the new SATA standard? I was thinking of getting this: http://www.newegg.com/...mage.asp?style=album

It comes with 4 sets of cables, IDE-to-SATA adapters, and power adapters so you can use existing drives with it.

I've got a SATA controller on this new motherboard. I'm looking at something like this: http://www.xpcgear.com/idehardrivto.html

But I think it only supports ATA 100 & 133. My secondary drive is a 40GB ATA 66...but I really don't even use it now that I think of it so it might not even be an issue.

Still trying to read up why it would even be a benefit to run my ATA drives off SATA (other than nice neat cabling). Know any good articles?

Have a look at:

I'd wait for second generation drives though, not much of a pressing need for them now.

Cheers,

Alex
