Premier of BC DUI in Maui
Hello All,

Recently the provincial premier of BC was caught ! Shocked DUI on vacation in Hawaii.

see: http://www.maui.net/~mauinews/lnews6c.htm

also : http://canada.com/...6-B802-6B66CB855CA2}

So the question is does a politician who gets caught in a goof resign ?

Does the oath of office taken mean nothing ?

But on the other hand Canada allows the President of the USA to enter canada

and he has been convicted of DUI. [ A special order to allow an Alien into Canada with a record ]

So while the normal people of earth are not allowed to cross borders, politicians seem to be special.

I suppose canada will also allow Ms Ryder to enter for filming after she has finished her probation.

Personally :

I think Gordon Campbell should step aside and if convicted should resign as Premier of BC.

Not because this is a real bad thing, but he needs to take some time to fix his personal life.

This is not his first visit to maui and this is probably not his first time driving after drinking.

This is just his first time caught driving after drinking.

At least he did not use his credit card to buy access to a kiddie porn site.

Thanks

cornball

I'm not sure if it's the same for the Americans, however, if a Canadian has a criminal record (in Canada) they are not allowed to cross the border.

So if you were convicted for stealing a bar of soap you couldn't cross the border?

I think so..., IANAL tho'. Especially now with the 9-11 aftermeasures things have gotten crazy. They even denied me passage (on an unrelated matter, they were afraid I was going down to work illegally)

I'm thinking he might as well stay on. I don't like him, I'll admit that, but currently, he is their leader and who are they going to have replace him? If anything, this major embarrasment will be impetus for him work even harder to clear his name/family/party and perhaps he'll be an even better premier because of it.

I think his political career is finished, however, seeing as on top of this he's already not well liked (there are little stickers that say "Campbell" stuck to the bottom of those stop signs around where I live)

Hehe, BCers just can't seem to keep away from substances: http://www.canoe.ca/SlamNaganoSnowboarding/feb12_whist.html Maybe instead of being embarassed about it all we should celebrate it! Everyone here guzzles and inhales!
