PHP-Script directories..
Anyone know of some decent PHP script directories? I am looking at places to submit my PHP scripts. I have already submitted at HotScripts and PHP resource Index, but a search at Yahoo! revealed 8 sites (using the keywords 'php scripts), of which only 1 was any use Wink

I tried several other search engines, but none of them seed to bring up decent PHP Directory sites.

Anyone got any personal favourites?

Thanks

That's because they are all tutorial sites because php is so unnecessarily complicated and difficult to learn Tongue

You kidding? PHP is really easy. I have to admit, there are things that confused me as a Perl programmer going to PHP, but the general things about it are fine Wink

Is that why you've been asking tons of basic php questions? Tongue

No offence but you are far from a programmer, as am I and pretty much everyone else here (except Mark, GClemmons, GT staff etc)

As Britannica.com says, a programmer is defined as;

one that programs: as a : a person who prepares and tests programs for devices (as computers) b : one that programs a mechanism c : one that prepares instructional or educational programs.

Mmm...now, my main part time job (for after collage), is to test a PROGRAM! And, Programming PHP and Perl is yet another example. Being a programmer has notthing to do with your ability to do it! If someone can write a basic hello world script they ARE a programmer (not a very good one, but a programmer none the less Wink)

now, I know you even said that you yourself could not be classed as a programmer, but I think a lot of people would disagree Wink

Ahem....tonnes (try about 3). As I said earlier, there is quite a lot of differences with PHP and Perl. The questions I posted were to do with them! Tongue

hotscripts is number 1 or at least number 2 right now.
then there is cgi-reasource --they have built up their other script listing areas too.
and the last one that comes to mind is freshmeat.

have fun!

Perl and PHP actually make scripts and not programs, so technically you are scripters and not programmers Tongue

They are scripts witten in plain text. You wouldn't call a Word Document a program would you?

Maybe they _become_ programs when compiled

Programs (IMO) are binary apps like Photoshop etc

Programs are compiled. Scripts are run through an interpreter.

hmmm ... I'm with Paul on this.

But I wonder what about something like Links ... where does the script line ends and the program line begins ...

I did read some where ... (gotta think or find where I read that ...)

The script ends when its compiled and thats where the program begins Tongue Links is a script and not a program.
