Sigh, this is why I hate offline downloaders:

2145 guests have accessed the forum in the last 15 minutes.

At least things are still running. Had to ban the IP though, as load was getting too high.

Heehee. Sure it wasn't a spider? I thought you made it impossible for the same IP to request more than x number of pages per minutes? Because I remember running in this problem a while back.

TelePortPro is a spider of sorts. I had some code to block this evil program for the robots.txt file I acquired from the programmers. It worked for me, but unfortunately I don't have this tag now.

I took it off as it was blocking innocents. =(

Yep, it managed to block me a few times. But me being innocent is a totally different question ;-)

You could just alter the settings, as Offline Readers and Spiders do a hellufa lot of reuqests per second. It's fairly obvious that it's not an ordinary user.
