It will be a while until a good stable release will be ready for XP I imagine. Why would you want to run a web server on anything other than Linux anyway? ;-)

Isn't it woody? From what I hear from Scott, Debian's not all that great, since you can only really get older software with apt. Then again, I can't really say much till I try it myself... but for now it's Slackware for me

Yes, sorry. Woody is the codename for the latest release. Potato was the latest version?
For the latest software, you're right - you'll have to go for another dev version. The standard release will haev Apache 1.x bundled in due to the fact that they are trying to release a very stable build and they haven't had time to thoroughly test Apache 2 yet. Woody has been running on some commercial servers since Jan 2001 now, so I think that's a good indication of it's stability, so many argue the latest dev versions are more stable than other dists - so you can get a copy with all the latest gizmos, it's just not fully endorsed by Debian.
