I have been installing links now for over a year, on different sites. Most hosts tell you to place your cgi files in or under the cgi-bin. Recently I have placed them in the public_html folders and they all work.

This makes life so much easier and faster, an installation can be done in less than 5 minutes.

Just unzip links, make a directory on your server, and upload all the files in one go, change links.cfg, and chmod, hey presto.

Is this the case with, all, most servers or have I just struck lucky recently.

Please let me know if anybody else is doing it this way as this makes life easier for all the new installers.
