Category - Invalid format

Category - Invalid format
Hi all
Any ideas why I can't create a category named 'United Kingdom' for example ("Name - Invalid Format") Do I take it you are not allowed spaces in category names as UnitedKingdom works. This seems a bit daft have I got a setting wrong somewhere?
