Not quite sure I understand - but I think that you're trying to use the import for importing from Links flatfile version and not from a previous version of LinksSQL. I haven't done an upgrade for a while but I have a feeling that when you install the new version of LinksSQL it asks you whether it is an upgrade and if it is, it should use the existing database.
