Sorry it took so long for us to get to this thread.
Indeed, what you've asked for is possible, we can use a flag in the links table to determine which detailed page template to use if you so desire, it can be done through a plugin or maybe a global depending on your exact specifications.
As for question #2, I need more details, but if you confine pages to specific folders, you shouldn't have any issues.
For #3, we don't keep the Link ID# when a link is copied to a second category, so there shouldn't be a problem.
For #4, yes, but a small import script/read script needs to be written and the specifications need to be more defined, but yes.
We also have a German partner in Holger Mali with whom you can speak about customisations and support in German if you wish, rather than having to wear down the pages of your English dictionary. More information about the German version of Links SQL, which is kept up to date, is located here:
